Glorious and traditional British prog rock!” Prog Notes Special

ESP 2.0

Producer and guitarist Tony Lowe (Cross & Fripp / Simon Townshend / Bram Stoker), vocalist Peter Coyle (ex Lotus Eaters) and Full Band, hit the road with a blistering combination of top-flight musicianship, an immersive light and projection show (at select venues), and some of the most astonishing prog rock for many years. Born out of a collaboration with members of King Crimson and Van der Graaf Generator, ESP 2.0 tours as miraculously tight, disciplined five-piece, and places itself firmly at the centre of the British prog movement.

Get Ready to ROCK! – Live Review of Launch Gig at The Half Moon Putney

Striking a chord with fans of 70’s Genesis, Yes and Floyd, ESP 2.0 is no nostalgia project. Their shows are complex, eye-wateringly virtuosic, immersive and thrilling. If you like real music by real musicians, you’ll love this.

*With Special Guest – Mikey Cuthbert at The Half Moon and John Young (Lifesigns) at The Stables and Robin 2.

ESP 2.0 – The unique combination of Peter Coyle (formed The Lotus Eaters in 1982 – best known for the international hit ‘The First Picture of You’) and Tony Lowe playing music from their new prog rock album, ’22 Layers of Sunlight’ (April – 2018) along with songs from ‘Invisible Din’ the 2016 release which earned over 14 top reviews by the music industry.

These deeply evocative and stunningly original songs, merge passionate vocals and intricate soundscapes. Sometimes using complex rhythmic structures, overlaid with modern progressive rock elements and orchestral movements, the music creates an intense, dramatic but ultimately uplifting experience.

Mikey Cuthbert is a singer songwriter from Southend on Sea. His music is guitar based acoustic indie and his gritty but beautiful lyrics express his real-life experiences and emotions. Mikey co-hosted the instant cult hit and real time internet show ‘In the Attic’ with Rachel Fuller, which included live music, witty rhetoric and guest appearances from established musicians and celebrities such as Pete Townshend, Simon Townshend, Jerry Hall, Adele and Roger Daltrey. In 2005 Mikey released an EP ‘Invisible’ produced by Simon Townshend and executive producer Pete Townshend, featuring Mark Brzezicki, Matt Pegg and Simon Townshend.

Since then Mikey brought up his two children and began to write and perform again in the last 4 years. He has been composing and performing songs which he uploads and shares on both his Facebook and YouTube channels and will be releasing an album in 2018… ContPhoto by Lewis Wilson
